Miklal provides custom services to publishers and software companies in the fields of biblical studies, semitics, and digital humanities. Miklal has experience working both for corporations and for academics, and on a wide variety of computing platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
Miklal contributes not only expertise in ancient languages (e.g. Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic) and biblical studies, but also creativity in problem solving and computational sophistication.
Miklal has worked with publishers to produce software tools for creating print and digital products. For example, Miklal developed a Print Interlinear Enabler to produce Hebrew-English Interlinear ESV Old Testament: Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) and English Standard Version (ESV) for Crossway.
Miklal has also developed a Text Alignment Tool that can be used to produce high quality text alignment data for parallel texts and translations. This tool can be adapted to produce print and digital resources in a variety of languages.
Bible Software Companies
Miklal has done most of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek work for one of the leading Bible software companies, for which Miklal developed and implemented a way of displaying aesthetically pleasing UNICODE Hebrew/Aramaic on operating systems and computing devices that lack good complex script support. Miklal also produced a powerful and fast search algorithm for this same client.
Miklal has worked with professors on grant-supported projects to produce software tools to enhance scholarship, such as the E-Crit project (screenshot below), an application that allows the user to create and use an “electronic critical edition” of a text.
